State of Missouri is Hiring a Coordinator - Financial and Administrative Services Near Jefferson, MO

Job Location: This position will be located at 205 Jefferson St., Jefferson City, MO 65101.

The Division of Financial and Administrative Services is responsible for distributing all federal and state funds to local school districts, public charter schools and other agencies that provide education-related services. The division assists local school officials with budgeting, audits, and the reporting of financial statistics, both state and federal. The division also provides assistance with school administrative and governance issues. Other personnel in this division administer the federally-funded school lunch and breakfast programs.

What you’ll do:

  • Coordinate the financial and accounting functions within the Office of Educator Quality, Office of Data System Managements, and other assigned sections within the Division of Financial and Administrative Services.
  • Review and approve expenditures and disbursements (expense accounts, DPRs, invoices, etc.) in order to ensure sufficient budget capacity, compliance with procurement regulations, and the accuracy of accounting information for Educator Quality.
  • Oversee the annual preparation and submission of the applicable budget request forms for Core Decision Items, Program Descriptions, and New Budget Request forms that are part of the annual DESE Budget Book.
  • Assist with the development, tracking, and fiscal monitoring of contracts, grants, MOUs, IFBs, and IFQs.
  • Reconcile revolving funds and provide assistance with all business-related activities—such as conferences, workshops, and other cost recovery projects.
  • Serve as a member on the department’s Fiscal Liaison Committee.
  • Review and interpret fiscal statutes and regulations (Federal and state) related to programs within assigned Offices/Sections. Apply a working knowledge of these laws and regulations to ensure compliance and accountability.
  • Develop resources and guidance documents to assist LEAs with the implementation of rules, statutes, and regulations that relate to programs within assigned Offices/Sections.
  • Provide webinars, presentations, and targeted technical assistance to varied audiences related to financial topics for assigned Offices/Sections.
  • Oversee the allocation, distribution, and reconciliation of all grants and appropriations for assigned Offices/Sections.

All you need for success:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in Business Administration, Finance, Special Education, or other related area.
  • Three or more years of coordination, supervision, and administration of fiscal programs, or other experience that contributes directly to the understanding of activities of this assignment.
