The Division of Finance is currently offering a hire incentive bonus of up to
$4,000.00 for newly hired Human Resource Technician (HRT 1-3) positions.
The incentive bonus will be paid in two equal installments, less mandatory deductions. Employees will be eligible for the first installment after successful completion of 90 days. Employees will be eligible for the second and final installment after the employee's successful completion of probation. To receive an incentive, employees are expected to agree to a two-year term of employment with the Division of Finance.
What you will be doing:
This is a seasonal position responsible for the timely and accurate processing of all personnel and payroll actions for the Emergency Firefighter (EFF) payroll program. The key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
  • Processing basic personnel actions, i.e. EFF appointments and separations; address changes;
  • Auditing, certifying, and entering time and attendance;
  • Answering routine technical questions. Interprets pay and overtime calculations.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or the equivalent and six months of advanced clerical experience.
Substitution:
Six months of postsecondary education (16 semester hours or 24 quarter hours from an accredited college or university equals six months) in any field may substitute for the specific experience.
Special Note:
High school graduation "equivalent" means one of the following: 1) a G.E.D (i.e. passing the General Educational Development test).; 2) completion of any basic adult education course of 480 class hours (16 weeks at 30 hours per week); 3) six months of work experience performing duties related to office or clerical support; 4) twelve months of work experience involving some routine tasks related to office or clerical support; 5) highest grade of school completed plus any kind of work experience that totals 12 years or more; or 6) acceptance for admission in full standing by an accredited college or university.
