We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Assistant to join our finance team. The Accounting Assistant will play a key role in supporting various accounting and financial tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in day-to-day financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
Responsibilities:
Data Entry: Accurately enter financial data, including invoices, receipts, and other transactions, into the accounting system.
Invoice Processing: Assist in processing and coding invoices, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to company policies.
Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and financial records regularly to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Expense Reports: Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
Accounts Receivable: Support in monitoring and processing customer payments and maintaining accurate accounts receivable records.
General Ledger Entries: Assist in the preparation and entry of general ledger transactions.
Record Maintenance: Maintain organized and up-to-date records of financial transactions, including filing and documentation.
Reporting: Generate and assist in preparing financial reports as needed by the finance team.
Communication: Communicate effectively with team members and external stakeholders to gather necessary information and resolve discrepancies.
Ad-hoc Tasks: Assist in various ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned by the finance manager.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting or finance is a plus.
Proven experience as an Accounting Assistant or in a similar role.
Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent data entry and organizational skills.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Familiarity with relevant accounting regulations and compliance.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
