St Vincent de Paul is Hiring a Human Resources Benefits Administrator Near Phoenix, AZ

Job Title: Human Resources Benefits Administrator

Department: Human Resources

Reports To: Human Resources Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Summary:

The Human Resource Benefits Administrator should be well versed in Benefits and ADP programming. The incumbent will produce and manage ADP reports as well as input benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K) into the system. Also, the incumbent will be accountable and manage all the essential digital records.


Specific Duties:

  • Inputs and collects data on analytics, employee surveys, and employment records regarding benefits.
  • Prepares reports of data results, presenting and explaining findings to the Director of HR and HR Manager.
  • Based on metrics, analyses, and makes recommendations for activities to improve the organizational culture including suggestions to attract and hire qualified candidates, to motivate and retain employees, to address staffing issues, and to maintain legal compliance.
  • Conduct benefit presentations of offerings to all applicable new employees within the first 60 days of the employee’s hire. Administer various employee benefits programs, such as medical, dental, vision, short/long term disability, health savings account (HSA), life insurance, and retirement (401K and Roth) in ADP Workforce Now.
  • Function as Group Administrator for all health, welfare, and retirement plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and benefit providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
  • Reconciles benefits statements to verify all employees are enrolled in the correct benefit elections, and benefit providers are invoicing properly.
  • Administers COBRA in partnership with ADP Workforce Now’s COBRA processing group.
  • Administers, tracks and monitors leave of absences for the SVdP organization, including FMLA tracking, and assisting employees with the processing of Short-Term /Long Term Disability claims, if applicable.
  • Consults with senior management, benefits broker, and providers as appropriate to negotiate and coordinate annual benefit renewals.
  • Cross-trains in Human Resources and backs up recruiting initiatives.
  • Reviews and responds to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation to include reporting of monthly unemployment statements.
  • Performs any other reasonable duties assigned by departmental management.
  • Participates in and serves as a model for SVdP’s Culture of Philanthropy, and ensure SVdP volunteers feel welcomed and appreciated *
  • Volunteer engagement and appreciation, as well as Culture of Philanthropy participation are part of all job descriptions at SVdP, and a very important part of the organizational culture and values


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • 2 years experience in benefits administration
  • 2 years experience in ADP programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of employee benefits and laws
  • Computer proficiency in Office Suite
  • Bi-lingual proficiency in Spanish

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent related experience
  • A minimum of 2 years experience working with Benefit Programs
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in ADP

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach and lift up to 30 pounds are required for this position.
