POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Affinaquest seeks a Senior Contracts Manager. A successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting a growth company through negotiation and administration of all Company contracts, and operational leadership and oversight of the contracting process. They must have a proven track record of overseeing and administering contract operations and contract negotiations, cross-company collaboration, and ability to excel in a team-based work culture
The candidate will be expected to work under pressure, anticipating and proactively addressing issues and working autonomously while using judgment to seek input and keep leadership informed. The Contract Manager will develop and execute strategic and tactical initiatives to ensure increased efficiency in the order-to-cash workflow with emphasis on contract negotiation and contract lifecycle management ("CLM") and administration. They will thrive in a culture of continuous change and innovative disruption while operating in a highly collaborative and collegial culture. They will work cross-functionally from the most strategic to the most detailed level.
This individual will be responsible for creating scale in deal administration and contract oversight through the implementation and execution of leading practices, including close coordination with internal stakeholders, vendors, and clients, to accommodate both current and anticipated deal volume.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Chief Legal Officer (CLO) and Chief Financial Officer
Other key relationships: CEO, Sales, Client Success, Executive Team Members, other Functional Leadership, and Financial Sponsors
Requirements
MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS TO APPLY:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, law, business administration, or a similar discipline
  • Demonstrated proficiency in contract law, drafting, negotiation, and administration with at least 7 years of relevant experience as a contract manager or similar role within a corporate setting
  • Direct experience negotiating commercial contracts and coordinating redlines across departments
  • Prior experience working within a fast-paced growth company or similar environment
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:
  • Responsible for the entire contract lifecycle for commercial, vendor, and partner contract documents.
  • Assess existing CLM processes, workflows, and tools to improve efficiencies with the ability to scale to achieve Company growth targets.
  • Draft, evaluate, negotiate, and execute a wide variety of different contracts covering a range of transactions on schedule
  • For Commercial Contracts:
    • Be the primary point of contact for negotiations and redlines.
    • Maintain master copy of working documents and run the redlining process; gathering business and legal decisions from necessary stakeholders expeditiously
    • Collaborate with Sales reps and Sales ops to ensure contracting process is efficient
  • Will be an administrator and subject matter expert on the Company's contracts management software, LinkSquares
  • Know and implement contract compliance best practices, ensuring contract compliance by both parties and periodic review of contracts to ensure ongoing compliance
  • Maintain confidentiality of all contracts, and administer confidentiality best practices
  • Collaborate with business on questions regarding the Company's contracts
  • Maintain schedule of contract terms and expirations for all contracts
  • Oversee and manage the contracts template database and clause library
  • Mitigate common contract management risks, including financial, legal, and security risks
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local business laws and regulations and Company policies
  • Prepare reports and documentation on contract status, administration, and compliance for leadership review, including tracking of contracting SLAs
  • Provide training on contact management and administration operations and processes to all key stakeholders

POSITION LOCATION
  • Company Office located in Reston, VA- Hybrid Office Policy: Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
