Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Administrative Assistant/Medical Biller to join our team in our new office in the heart of Lake Nona. As a Medical Administrative Assistant and Biller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to provide administrative support and assist with various tasks related to medical coding, billing, and record-keeping.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors, and direct them to the appropriate department or healthcare professional
- Schedule appointments and maintain the appointment calendar
- Answer phone calls, take messages, and respond to inquiries
- Assist with medical coding and billing processes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Handle medical collection activities, including insurance claims and patient billing
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as necessary
- Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and data entry
Requirements
- REQUIRED: Certified Billing & Coding Specialist (CBCS) credential
- REQUIRED: Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Two years of experience in clerical/office support work and/or education at the high school or post-high school level in English, spelling, keyboarding, computers, business, or office practices.
- Proven experience as a Medical Administrative Assistant or in a similar role
- Proficient in medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-9), and electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Knowledge of medical billing procedures and insurance guidelines
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality
