MERCHANDISE OPERATIONS COORDINATOR

Location: 75 Varick Street, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10013

POSITION SUMMARY

Our Merchandise Operations Coordinator is part of Splashlight’s Operations Engine. Your primary responsibilities and tasks will support Splashlight’s core corporate goals: Implementing Business Operating Systems, Strengthening Market Position and Grow Revenue.

The Merchandise Coordinator is responsible for acquiring, tracking and organizing product samples as they move throughout the production process. The Merchandise Coordinator reports directly to the Manager of Merchandise Systems & Operations, and works closely with the Production, Operations, Technology, Retouching, and Creative teams.

In this role, the Merchandise Coordinator will contribute to the handling of all aspects of sample management for a high volume retailer client, including inventory control, product tracking, and sample logistics to ensure all production guidelines are followed and timelines are met. 

The Merchandise Coordinator will have an excellent attention to detail, focusing on minute details of the job as they work with complex inventory management systems, as well as strong communication skills in order to ensure an effective flow of information between internal and client teams. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Your responsibilities support Implementing Business Operating Systems which in turn will help Splashlight Strengthen our Market Position and ultimately Grow Revenue for the organization.

Our Merchandise Ops Coordinators generally support a primary or contract client(s) in addition to occasional "one off" clients who shoot periodically.

Your day to day tasks include but are not limited to the following: : 

  • Determine schedule of daily merchandising tasks and required preparation for each shoot
  • Track merchandise throughout the production process using internal and/or external inventory management systems
  • Perform quality control procedures to ensure inventory data, merchandise and assets meet compliance standards
  • Act as a liaison between client and Splashlight to gather all relevant and necessary product information and to help resolve any product issues
  • Partner with various members of the Operations team as needed to facilitate the timely & accurate delivery of merchandise 
  • Partner with producers to ensure timely delivery of work based on established timelines and maintain production priorities
  • Coordinate the return of samples once production is complete
  • Proactively identify, communicate, and solve any merchandise issues that arise throughout the production process
  • Effectively and clearly communicate relevant merchandise details to producers, stylists, and creative team members
  • Help maintain and organize sample storage areas

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Merchandising experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work with a diverse group of people.
  • Computer savvy with strong Google Suite skills.
  • Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills.

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to bend, stoop, push, pull, and stand for periods of time.
