Role Summary

As the Human Resources Coordinator, you are hands-on and understand the importance of supporting colleagues face to face, in person on-site. You are ready to ensure that the human resources department runs efficiently. You enjoy helping people, building trusting relationships, and understand when to escalate potential issues or concerns to appropriate higher-level HR colleagues. You are compassionate, empathetic and can showcase this and your organizational skills in relating to colleagues in need of support, communication efforts, and recruiting. In partnership with the hiring manager, provides support with administration, HR projects and initiatives, new hire processes including onboarding, recruitment, and employee engagement. You are detail-oriented in such tasks as entering colleague data into our HRIS system. You understand that confidentiality is of the utmost importance.

What you’ll be doing

  • You will exhibit effective communication abilities, including written and verbal communication.
  • You will prioritize and be responsive to HR-related issues brought to your attention.
  • You will uphold optimal procedures and principles by evaluating internal practices, external trends, and networks.
  • You will also have the ability to create reports and pull data for presentations, enhancing the decision-making processes of business leaders.
  • You will represent Watson-Marlow Americas at internal events, conferences, and meetings, where appropriate and when needed.
  • You, as a Watson-Marlow Americas colleague, will have the ability to work in a team setting with an in-depth understanding of the company’s values.

  • Ensures the maintenance, integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Provides clerical support to the HR department.
  • May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.
  • Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers.
  • Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to challenge others effectively and appropriately when appropriate.
  • Will work collaboratively as one, or in a team with a growth mindset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite of tools.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • Prior related office experience preferred.
  • Experienced in conducting successful recruitment procedures through to orientation.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
