We’re looking for an experienced engineering leader committed to high standards of performance to help support and grow our engineering team and culture.

In addition to the above, we’re looking for a leader who demonstrates great technical depth, superior communication & collaboration skills, a high level of integrity and a strong desire to help teams solve technical challenges to deliver a product built for both small startups and large enterprise businesses alike.

What you'll get to do every day: 

Our Engineering Managers each co-lead a cross-functional mission-driven squad, overseeing and leading in the technical direction of the squad’s engineers. Engineering Managers are supported by Product Managers and Designers in creating prioritized product roadmaps and cultivating stakeholder alignment.

This Engineering Manager will work closely alongside engineers via 1:1s, pairing, mentoring, reviewing work and collaborative problem solving. You will partner closely with Product Management and Design to deliver customer value quickly and effectively toward product outcomes within constraints including high quality standards. You will also support your team by facilitating healthy team collaboration and efficiencies that promote sustained learning, growth, engagement, morale and sustained excellence.

You will continuously cultivate your team health by:

  • Ensuring adequate technical resources & skills for success
  • Mentoring & growing squad engineers as future technical and people leaders
  • Removing obstacles to collaboration, healthy conflict, and effective cross functional engagement
  • Cultivating a team culture that fosters rapid learning, iterating and adapting in a continuous hunger for improvement and excellence 
What you’ll need to be successful on Day 1:
  • 8-15 years of experience in software development and 3-5 years of experience in a people leadership role (either as a tech lead or manager, directly managing software engineers)
  • Familiarity the with different software development methodologies (XP, Scrum, Kanban, etc) with the ability to extract, trade-off, and apply key principles
  • Ability to assess team health and performance and to identify, prioritize, and improve in the most important areas
  • Natural ability to manage technical debt and trade-offs throughout the development lifecycle
  • Strong fullstack experience ideally with working knowledge of React, Python (Django) or similar languages and frameworks
  • Passion for scaling an engineering org and codebase
  • Demonstrated success in thinking & working strategically
  • Results driven; highly capable of executing in a fast-paced environment that adapts to new learning and insights
  • A servant leader mindset with strong people-centric leadership and interpersonal communication skills

$150,000 - $180,000 a year
Salary offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and expertise
