New Division of SPA which assists the Government in developing leading edge technologies to enhance deterrence and counter WMD in support of CCMDs and transition technologies and capabilities to services and SOCOM. SPA provides expertise across the full range of nuclear deterrence, chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high-yield explosives (CBRNE) WMD, Counterforce, and Countering Threat Network technologies to support understanding, detection, identification, characterization, denial, control, disabling, defeating, disposing, safeguarding the force, managing consequences, and test and evaluation in support of military and civilian operations. SPA has a near term need for a Sr. Nuclear Weapons Safety Analyst. Responsibilities The Senior Nuclear Weapons Safety Analyst has at least 5 years' experience assembling, maintaining, loading, and transporting nuclear weapons. The analyst will provide support and expertise on Nuclear Weapons Safety, and validate compliance with DoD Nuclear Weapons Systems Safety Rules (WSSR). They will provide advice on adhering to DoD Nuclear Weapons System Surety standards. They support office management functions, and author/coordinate changes to current and new DoD and Joint Nuclear Weapons Publication System (JNWPS) safety publications. Qualifications Required Qualifications: * 10 years experience and a MA/MS degree * Ability to work on high-visibility or mission critical programs * Experience assembling, maintaining, loading, and transporting nuclear weapons * Strong knowledge and understanding of DoD nuclear weapons safety rules * Acquire and use OSHA approved safety footwear * Experience producing technical reports and authoring changes to safety publications Desired Qualifications: * 15 years experience and a BA/BS * National laboratories experience * Experience with fire protection * Experience with wing weapon safety * Experience preparing briefing and other meeting materials
