The Measurement & Science Engineering Department in the Validation and Qualification Sciences Experimental Group is seeking an experienced Test Operations Engineer to lead a team of technologists, contractor's and customer teams to plan, conduct, and document photometric experiments at the test facilities we support. On any given day, you may be called on to: * Work with program sponsors, department managers, ES&H experts and other team members to ensure that the customer's test objectives are met on time, safely within budget while following all corporate and Group Work Planning and Controls requirements * Work closely with a broad spectrum of internal and external sponsors * Develop and implement new photometric methods and processes while applying them to complex or strategic issues or significant problems * Develop solutions to photometric problems of significant and unusual complexity which require the use of ingenuity and innovation * Work with media relations and Photometrics team to coordinate creation and delivery of high impact deliverables * Lead integrated teams on complex photometric processes

Qualifications We Require * Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus 5 or more years' related experience, or the equivalent combination of relevant education and exempt experience * Experience in planning and executing optical diagnostic plans in support of experiments * Experience developing and executing a strategic customer engagement plan * Able to acquire and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance Qualifications We Desire * Ability to work efficiently within a team environment * Experience eliciting customer requirements and negotiating relevant diagnostics and deliverables * Experience scheduling work at multiple sites and managing conflicts * Experience with set-up and execution of optical diagnostics for large-scale field experiments and lab-scale experiments * Experience innovating, developing, and fielding novel lighting and triggering schemes * Experience with calibration and measurement methods and associated technologies * Experience with video editing and creation of test summary videos and other high impact deliverables * Demonstrated ability to team across disciplines About Our Team The Measurement Science & Engineering department (1535) AKA "The Photometrics Team" is a multi-disciplinary group that provides cutting edge imaging measurements for large and small-scale test work supporting Sandia's National Security Mission.
