South City Community School is Hiring a DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY LIFE Near St. Louis, MO

Department: Administration

Classification: Leadership/“Bridge” team

Status: Full time (1.0 FTE)

Calendar: 12 months

Immediate Supervisor: Head of School

Salary: $50,000 – $60,000 commensurate with education and experience

Position Summary: The Director of Community Life plays a pivotal role in continuing to shape the school’s culture and ensuring its financial sustainability through effective enrollment growth and successful community engagement efforts. The director plays this pivotal role by fostering a vibrant and engaged SCCS community which values Christ, the Charlotte Mason education philosophy and the City of St. Louis.

Primary Responsibilities: This position is specifically focused on strategically growing student enrollment while also overseeing the messaging, constituent engagements and events which draw our community in to partner with SCCS . The director will collaborate with various constituents to enhance the overall experience for students, families, and staff, contributing to the school’s long-term success. The director will also be the liaison between the Parent Organization and the Head of School and be a member of the Diversity Committee and the Philanthropy Committee of the SCCS Board of Directors.

While the responsibilities below represent the primary role of the Director, the list is not exhaustive and may require additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head of School.

  • Enrollment Growth and Retention:
    • Collaborate and develop an enrollment growth strategy in line with SCCS mission, values and current strategic plan.
    • Implement initiatives to continue to enhance the retention rates of students through engagement and satisfaction.
    • Conduct, collaborate with SCCS partnerships to develop a market study focused on targets for enrollment growth.
    • Work closely with office personnel to review, adjust, and improve (where applicable) the enrollment process.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Foster positive relationships with current and prospective students, families, faculty and staff.
    • Oversee events and communication promoted to encourage community participation and engagement.
  • Communications & Marketing:
    • Oversee the Marketing and Communications Specialist to develop and execute on communication strategies that promote SCCS initiatives and community fundraising events.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting:
    • Oversee the enrollment process as it relates to the FACTS management system.
    • Monitor and analyze the Parent Organization fundraising, in collaboration with the Office Administrator, results to provide the most up to date information through requested reports for the Head of School.
    • Monitor and analyze enrollment and community fundraising event data to identify trends and areas needing improvement.
    • Generate regular reports around key performance indicators related to enrollment and Parent Organization engagement & growth.

Supervision/Oversight responsibilities

  • Directly supervise the Marketing and Communications Specialist.
  • Direct oversight over the Coyote Parent Organization while directly supervising the Parent Engagement Coordinator.
  • Oversight of the FACTS Student Information System as it pertains to Admissions data and parent engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Business, Marketing, Education, etc.).
  • Minimum 5 years proven experience in community engagement, enrollment management, and/or fundraising.
  • Can supply three (3) references including a previous employer who can attest to:
    • Successful experience related to the position
    • Candidate’s ability to build, maintain and restore trusting relationships
  • A personal commitment to Jesus Christ, active participation in a local church, and a willingness to grow continually.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinking and planning abilities.
  • Ability to make decisions, meet deadlines and work collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with private Christian independent school environments is a plus.
