Softtek is seeking a Maintenance Technician in the South Chicago area. The candidate will be working in a fast-paced global enterprise environment and will require the Technician to be onsite. The ideal Maintenance Technician must have leadership and communication skills in addition to technical and maintenance expertise, preferably in the automotive manufacturing industry.
Basic Education, Experience and Skills Required
- High School Diploma or 4 years of experience in Industrial maintenance.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- (2) years of Preventative Maintenance experience (seminars, certificates, degree, leading PM teams etc.)
- Abilities to read blueprints / machine schematics
- Competent in pneumatics applications
- Competent in basic electrical applications
- Competent with Lock out Tag out applications
- Working knowledge of tools (Drill Press, Mills, Horizontal / Vertical Saws, Belt Sanders)
- Basic abilities to weld (MIG, ARC, TIG, Stick etc.)
- Able to operate a computer and maintain records of maintenance
- Analytical skills / Detail oriented /manage time and responsibilities independently
- Technical understanding of machine and components.
