Maintenance Technician

I am working with a fast-growing food manufacturing company based in Chicago that is looking for several skilled maintenance technicians to join their teams, across 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift.
In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment, and repairing machines and plant facilities. You will also conduct preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
· Effectively and safely operates standard maintenance tools such as power tools, basic hand tools and basic electrical testing equipment.
· Perform preventative maintenance work orders ranging from daily needs up to semi-annual PM schedules. Conduct maintenance according to skill level and pursuant to safety policies and procedures.
· Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
· Complete minor troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical related issues without direct supervision. Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts; test and make-adjustments.
· Detect, document, repair and/or replace improper machine operation, defective material, and faulty equipment. Report unusual situations to the facility maintenance manager.
· Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
· Follow prescribed safety rules and regulation as well as other departmental policies and procedures. Help to develop proper safety techniques.
· Follow and perform emergency procedures regarding power failures.
· Diversify maintenance skills that will allow assignments to be given, in any work area and on any shift, as required.
Essential Experience:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· 4 years’ experience with preventative, and electrical/ mechanical maintenance
· Familiar with OSHA, LOTO (lockout/ tagout), and GMPs
· Demonstrated knowledge and troubleshooting experience with PLCs and conveyor systems
· Understanding of electrical and mechanical schematics in English
Preferred Experience:
· Understanding of 3 Phase electrical, 3 Phase motor controls, troubleshooting AC and DC drives
· Welding/ fabrication
· HVAC maintenance
