SLHV-St. Louis Heart and Vascular is Hiring a Medical Assistant (Float) Near St. Louis, MO
SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, the medical assistant will provide clinical and administrative tasks that includes recording vital signs, compiling patients' medical history, give injections or medications, answer phone calls, schedule appointments and handle any emergencies that arise.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):
- Prepare Patient for Office visit: Weight, Blood Pressure, Respirations, Heart Rate and O2 Saturation.
- Review medication list with the patient: Adding, deleting, and updating instructions.
- Complete questionnaires: Family History, Sleep Apnea, Risk Factor, and Review of Systems.
- Printing: Patient Chart Summaries, Physician Care Team, and Medical Records.
- Perform PT/INR, EKG, Heart Monitors, Blood Pressure Monitor, B12 Shots, and Nasal Swabs.
- Assist the Doctor or Nurses with in-office wound care.
- Assist the Nuclear Technicians in the Stress Lab: Nuclear stress, Stress echo, and Routine.
- Calls: Scheduling appointments and taking phone calls from patients.
- Medical Supplies: Keep supplies stocked, report any needed supplies to the supply coordinator for the office.
- Cleaning: Clean waiting rooms, work area, exam rooms, and equipment.
- Medicine cabinet: Keep in good order, organize, and dispose of any expired medications.
- Other duties as assigned.
Must be able to travel to all 6 clinics.
