Job Overview:
As a Senior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the construction project planning process by providing accurate cost estimates and ensuring projects are completed within budget. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs
- Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to accurately determine project requirements
- Utilize construction estimating software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid to create accurate estimates
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to develop comprehensive project budgets
- Conduct site visits to gather information and assess project scope
- Analyze historical data and industry trends to inform cost estimates
- Monitor and control costs throughout the duration of the project
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
- Prepare bid packages and submit proposals to clients
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred)
- Proven experience as a Senior Estimator in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles, practices, and techniques
- Proficiency in construction estimating software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and drawings
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong negotiation skills for contract agreements
