So, what does a Silvi Materials AP Clerk do? You'll be an integral part of our Stellar AP Team!

• Code and post paper invoices into billing software application.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents.
• Monitor compliance with purchasing procedures.
• Research vendor statements, phone calls and discrepancies
• Assist in monthly closings.
• Effectively transition to a new accounting and ERP system in the future.

Qualifications

• Hard working and dependable
• Able to work in a demanding, fast paced environment.
• At least 2 years of experience in the accounting field preferred.
• High School Diploma, G.E.D., or state accepted equivalent required (some college a plus)
• General understanding of accounting flow to general ledger (G.L.)
• Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
• Ability to learn industry specific accounting software.
• Excellent computer skills
• Social skills to work with both internal and external customers / contacts.

• Lift 20 pounds regularly and up to 40 pounds on occasion.

- Analyze expense reports for accuracy and compliance with company policies
- Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve any invoice or payment-related inquiries
- Assist with the implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the accounts payable function

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable or related role
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Paychex) and Microsoft Excel
- Solid understanding of general ledger accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping
- Familiarity with payroll management processes is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of financial concepts and ability to analyze financial data
- Familiarity with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance requirements
