GENERAL SUMMARY

The Corporate Human Resources Director is responsible for developing and executing human resources strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the company specifically in the areas of talent management, change management, performance management, and corporate governance. Reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES

Objective: Function as an advisor and consultant to leadership in areas of people initiatives, organizational development, labor trends, and mitigation of employment risks.

Activity: Develop and implement HR goals aligned with the company’s annual plan

Activity: Oversee and manage HR programs, systems, and initiatives

Activity: Provide weekly updates to C-Suite on talent and retention issues

Activity: Risk mitigation on employment and labor laws and rules

Objective: Direct and oversee talent acquisition and management strategies to develop internal talent.

Activity: Assist in workforce planning for high and low business cycles.

Activity: Oversee the recruitment, selection, and hiring process

Activity: Implement strategic efforts that address talent development

Activity: Work with internal marketing on strengthening employment brand

Objective: Navigate change management initiatives

Activity: Assists with organizational changes, processes, and systems

Activity: Work with leaders on communication of change initiatives

Activity: Assists in navigating the change management process to support overall company-wide efforts

Objective: Oversee Benefits Planning, budget, and initiatives

Activity: Recommend benefit plan changes based on trends and needs

Activity: Handle annual benefit enrollment and benefit contract negotiations

Activity: Ensure compliance with benefit plans, administration, and processes

Activity: Implement benefits that create a strong employee value proposition

Objective: Develop and oversee HR budget

Activity: Review expenses and budget accordingly

Activity: Control expenses

Activity: Recommend budget changes and manage the quarterly process

Objective: Coach with management on employee relations issues

Activity: Handle employee relation claims

Activity: Coach and train managers on performance management and dealing with employee issues

Activity: Policy Interpretation

Activity: Provide guidance and handle legal claims

Objective: Compensation and performance management

Activity: Provide compensation market analysis

Activity: Manage performance appraisal system

Activity: Recommend annual merit budget

Activity: Salary administration

Objective: Manage Workers' Compensation and Compliance administration

Activity: Manage workers' compensation policy renewal

Activity: Work with brokers and insurance companies on worker safety programs

Activity: Handle workers' compensation claims and annual OSHA 300

Activity: Manage company-wide compliance issues

KNOWLEDGE:

  • 7-10 years of HR generalist experience, multi-state, at least 3-5 years in a leadership role of managing a team, and able to communicate across all levels of the organization.
  • Multi-state (FL, NC, OH, WIS, GA) labor laws and demonstrated knowledge of general employment law practices
  • Knowledge of HR systems and processes
  • Subject matter expert on labor and employee relations to help managers navigate complex, sensitive and difficult employee issues.
  • Understand compensation administration and ability to provide insight to higher-ups on the labor market and internal compensation strategy

AUTHORITY AND AUTONOMY:

  • Works independently and with a high level of autonomy with little direction

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • SPHR or SPHR /SHRM-SCP certified
  • At least 3-5 years of HR leadership role
  • Bachelors in Human Resources or related field
  • Masters degree preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Agile leader
  • Ability to multi-task and high producer
  • Ability to work under pressure

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Manual dexterity is required to work on PC/Laptop
  • 10- 15% Occasional traveling to theaters
  • Ability to work evenings or weekends when needed
  • Hybrid /remote - Home office setting

WORKING SCHEDULE:

  • Ability to work odd hours or weekends
