Silver Dollar City Ozark Mtns is Hiring a Human Resources Benefits Manager Near Branson, MO

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Benefit/Timekeeping Management:

  • Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and regulations in the development and administration of compensation and benefits policies.
  • Administer benefits programs; assisting employees on eligibility for insurance, 401(k), benefit time accruals and EAP plans.
  • Serves as a champion for employee care; keeping the culture and mission of the company top of mind, ensuring that employees understand benefit programs and assisting as situations arise. Work as a liaison with Corporate Benefits and employees to resolve issues.
  • Coordinate yearly Annual Enrollment process with Corporate Benefits, arranging for distribution of materials/information to employees and process changes following deadlines.
  • Work in coordination with Corporate Benefits to manage Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance.
  • Manage FMLA/Leave of Absence process; assisting employees with paperwork and return to work practices.
  • Responsible for regional payroll/timekeeping administration, working with teams to complete process in a timely manner, completing weekly auditing processes to review for accuracy.
  • Train time approvers on system/process updates, managing compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate on-site meetings, educational events and wellness activities for benefits and wellness related programs.
  • Acts as a point of contact and facilitator for managing partnership with local medical provider for the on-site medical clinic exclusive to employees and dependents.
  • Responds to daily inquiries from leadership regarding policies, procedures and programs.
  • Lead and develop a team of HR professionals that specialize in Benefit Administration, HRIS, Onboarding and Employee Wellness.
  • Handle confidential information with sensitivity and discretion.

Strategic HR Leadership:

  • Provide expert guidance and recommendations on HR-related matters to park leadership.
  • Partner and collaborate with the Property Support Center, our Corporate HR Team, to align and execute human resources strategies and initiatives that support the overall business objectives.
    • By collaborating closely with the Property Support Center, you will help drive guest excellence, cultivate a great place to work where employees feel valued, engaged, and motivated to contribute their best and help to foster leading with love initiatives, ensuring that our employees are equipped with the necessary resources, training, and support to greatly exceed guest expectations.
  • Understand and help facilitate improvements in HR KPI metrics.
  • Model and demonstrate behavior and decision making in a manner that is consistent with our mission and core values.
  • Model and demonstrate behavior that exemplifies the Herschend and Silver Dollar City culture.

HR Compliance:

  • Stay abreast of federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Ensure HR policies, practices, and procedures are compliant with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of processes to monitor and report HR metrics to drive continuous improvement.

Communication, Employee Relations and Engagement:

  • Through strong communication techniques, enable alignment of the entire team on our goals and objectives in achieving our strategic intent and the value each host plays in our success.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive work environment by helping implement and support employee relations programs and practices.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Complete investigations and manage employee relations and conflicts in a fair and timely manner.
  • Ability to work with others in a friendly, positive manner.
  • Actively participate as a member of Herschend’s Human Resource Leadership Team providing input to Herschend’s Human Resource strategy

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • SHRM/PHR certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional Human Resources leadership experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven track record of driving HR initiatives and achieving results.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and customer-focused environment.
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel spreadsheet management (using VLOOKUP, pivot tables)) and web-based software programs.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug test.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Class E driver’s license.

  • The employee must occasionally individually lift and or move items with an average weight of 25 pounds and a maximum weight of 50 pounds and occasionally lift and carry with assistance/ push and pull items with an average weight of 50 pounds and a maximum weight of 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include continuous (more than 2/3 of the time) close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:

  • Continuously required to sit.
  • Frequently required to twist and bend.
  • Continuous use of hands and fingers to write, type and grip objects.
  • Frequently reach with hands and arms above shoulders, shoulders to waist and waist to floor.
  • Continuously required to speak clearly and hear others.
  • Occasionally required to drive and perform repetitive motions such as sweeping.
