Description

We have an immediate need for a Financial/Management Consultant with strong professional, interpersonal and analytical skills, who enjoys working creatively with and actively contributing to his or her team, to support the Department of the Navy, Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC). NAVFAC is a worldwide organization providing facilities engineering, design, construction, consultation, test and evaluation, technology demonstration/implementation, public works, environmental, and acquisition for the Navy and Marine Corps, Department of Defense, and other federal agencies. The team directly supports NAVFAC on federal financial execution and financial systems implementations. The team will also provide recommendations on courses of action and potential resolution. 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: 

• 3 years demonstrating proficiency in developing and owning work products in Microsoft office suite to include Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, portraying an ability to work independently, maintain attention to detail, and maintain a high standard for deliverables produced; experience with Microsoft Project and/or Microsoft Access a plus.
• 1-3 years professional experience with project management and program analysis, with hands on experience presenting information verbally and facilitating discussions with representatives from all levels of an organization.
• 2-3 years professional experience working in teams, demonstrating interpersonal, team-building, critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• 2-4 years experience with technical and/or professional writing, portraying an ability to independently conduct background research, structure written work products, and articulate findings succinctly; experience with proposal type work a plus
• Proficiency in project management skills to include, managing individual tasks to meet over project milestones, analyzing task lists to provide progress and status updates across multiple underlying and inter-dependent work streams, reviewing overarching project plans to identify constraints and work with project management to respond and resolve quickly. 
• Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance

Preferred:

• 2-4 years providing data analytics services with hands on experience with data visualization tools to include: high proficiency in excel, tableau, SQL, and/or creating macros.
• 2-4 years experience with business process re-engineering/optimization to include: documenting current procedures, conducting gap analysis to identify inefficiencies and quantifying the impact, recommending and evaluating improvement opportunities, identifying key performance metrics and providing assistance with tracking implementation of process improvements. 
• Working knowledge of DoD and Federal financial management and accounting regulations, and/or IT audit standards. 
• Experience working with DoD and Federal business systems related to accounting, accountability and financial reporting procedures with the DoD and Federal agencies. 
• Experience working with DoD and Federal agencies in a financial management and/or accounting capacity.
• Experience documenting and assessing internal controls, conducting risk analyses, and maintaining control catalogues.
• Relevant industry certification. eg. Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

Educational requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited United States college or university.

Geographical requirements:

• Candidate must be located in the National Capitol Region or be willing to relocate/contribute to in-person client and team engagements in the NCR within the next 6 months.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%. (While travel up to 25% is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been delayed until further notice.)
