POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Manufacturing Analyst to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing financial data, creating financial models, and providing insights to support decision making. This role will involve managing, improving, and building analytics related to plant costs, inventory costing and valuation, operational performance metrics, budgeting, and forecasting. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support and optimize financial and operational performance across the enterprise.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
· Collaborate with plant operations to analyze spend patterns and identify areas for improvement
· Update, maintain, and improve reporting of operational performance metrics
· Foster performance understanding and present improvement opportunities to operations and other functional departments
· Develop and manage projects to improve and automate existing processes for increased efficiency and enhanced business performance.
· Oversee the application of appropriate inventory costing methodologies, as well as the development and maintenance of accurate standards for material, labor, and overheads
· Help drive effective decision-making by using analyses such as financial models, cost analysis, ROI, proformas and industry indicators
· Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts, and facilitate improvements to their related processes
· Assist in the oversight of capital project spend, projected spend, status tracking, and adherence to internal process controls
· Estimate return on capital investment and calculate actual payback on completed capital projects
· Update, review, and publish various reports, and support month end close activities as needed
· Other duties as assigned, including ad hoc requests supporting all departmental and senior management teams
QUALIFICATIONS:
· 5 years of directly related work experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
· Additional certifications such as CPA, MBA, or CMA are a plus
· Experienced in management accounting, cost, and inventory accounting with a solid knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
· Proven experience as a financial analyst or cost analyst, preferably in a manufacturing environment
· Analytical, innovative, hands-on, and self-directed
· Able to identify root causes, propose improvement opportunities, develop and manage related projects
· Advanced experience with Excel with strong modeling skills
· Effective data visualization skills using tools such as PowerPoint and Power BI
· Strong software skills: experience with ERP, financial and operating reporting, and FP&A systems
· Ability to build relationships and work cross functionally with business partners
· Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a drive for high levels of accuracy
· Effective communication skills: verbal and written
· Strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude
