Overview/ Job Responsibilities

Sev1Tech is seeking a Systems Engineer to support emerging technology evaluations for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). The Systems Engineer is a general technologist able to support the idenfication and evaluation of technologies to deliver on functional and business requirements aligned with enterprise architecture and security standards.

Providing technical support for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of specific technology solutions to include requirements elicitation, analysis, conducting systems requirements reviews, developing concepts of operation and interface standards, developing system architectures, and performing technical/non-technical assessments.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Systems Engineer plays a key role in the Enterprise Architecture team with primary focus on the assigned portfolio. Working closely with the Office of the Chief Technology Office (CTO) on technology identification, evaluation, and recommendation development and assist in the development of system engineering documentation to include test and evaluation plans, reports, and maintaining the technology pipeline.

• Serve as the principle systems engineer providing engineering expertise and guidance for the design, development, implementation, and sustainment of IT solutions that enhance overall system performance and availability.
• Conduct system engineering tasks including system requirements analysis, system architecture and design, preliminary design, critical design, and systems integration.
• Perform Requirements Analysis Engineering.
• Produce technical documentation in support of engineering solutions that include, but are not limited to, architectural drawings, detailed design specifications, and test and evaluation reports.
• Assist with operational, technical tool standardization aligned with CISA architectures and security standards.
• Maintain standards compliance.
• Manages and monitors all installed systems and infrastructure.

Minimum Qualifications

Having a broad technical background spanning the full information technology landscape. The ability to clearly articulate technical messages for a variety of audiences, both through written and verbal means, will be a critical skill necessary for the success in this position.

• BA/BS or 7 years of prior relevant experience.
• 5 years' experience supporting enterprise architecture and evaluating technologies for enterprise acceptance.
• Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering, including requirements analysis and system architecture design
• Strong verbal and written technical communication skills
• Ability to liaise with government, vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
• Ability to provide proof of US Citizenship and ability to obtain a CBP Public Trust clearance

Desired Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in technology, network and cyber security design, engineering, and operations with emphasis on DHS capabilities.
• Cloud Technical, Business or TCO Accreditation
• Cloud Architect, DevOps or SysOps Associate or Professional Certification
