Description
The employee will identify, recruit, and screen potential employees for specific positions for the company. The employee will also facilitate the efficient operation of the HR department by performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Consults with hiring manager and/or other human resource staff to understand the requirements, duties, and qualifications desired for the specified vacant position(s).
- Collects and analyzes data to maintain current understanding of fair and competitive market salaries, candidate availability, and demand for candidates in particular fields.
- Assists in identifying and implementing efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies.
- Assists with job posting and advertisement processes.
- Screens candidates; selects qualified and interested candidates for the interviewing phase, and then connects viable candidates with hiring managers.
- Checks candidates' references and credentials, verifying experience and backgrounds.
- Counsels candidates on the interview and hiring process.
- Attends job fairs, campus events, and other networking opportunities.
- Arranges on-site interviews for applicants and company managers when necessary.
- Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
- Completion of any HR-related administrative projects as requested.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with aptitude in conducting interviews.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Familiarity with EEO, ADA, and other related employment laws and guidelines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
- Must be trustworthy as the position requires access to confidential employee information.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three years recruiting experience
- Associate or bachelor's degree in related field preferred
- Experience in the automotive or heavy truck industry highly preferred
- Experience in Paycom highly preferred
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
