The Data Analyst will play a critical role in supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization by extracting, transforming, and analyzing data from various sources. Turning data into actionable insights is central to this role. Reports to the Business Intelligence Manager.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Performs data analysis to uncover insights and trends within large datasets
- Develops and executes queries to extract and transform data from databases using SQL and other relevant tools
- Creates, maintains, and improves visualizations, dashboards, and reports to provide the business with self-service data access
- Utilizes data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Microsoft Excel
- Prepares and delivers presentations to communicate key findings and insights
- Partners with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide analytical support for decision-making
- Translates business questions into analytical solutions and actionable insights
- Identifies and addresses data quality issues and inconsistencies
- Integrates data from multiple sources to create unified datasets for analysis
- Collaborates with data engineers to ensure data pipelines and ETL processes are optimized for analysis
- Documents data analysis processes, methodologies, and results for future reference
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency in SQL and/or Python for data querying and manipulation.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques and tools (e.g., R, Python libraries).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and quality.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience as a Data Analyst or similar role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior military or government civilian experience
- Experience with cloud data warehouse platforms (Snowflake, Google BigQuery, etc)
- Familiarity with data pipelines and ETL processes
- Experience with Salesforce
