Title: Data Analyst I – Business Reports To: Coordinator of Information Systems Salary: This is a full-time position 232 days with a minimum annual salary of $63,627. Primary Purpose: To serve in a data analyst and system support of ASCENDER business for Region 13 clients and the ESC. Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field OR
3 years’ experience with business finance, accounting, and payroll.
Experience:
Experience with accounting principles and practices, particularly as they relate to school business accounting and school business office experience
Experience in public school and ESC accounting procedures
Experience in providing technical training and assistance in an educational setting is preferred
Experience with business information systems
Understanding of school audit requirements
Knowledge of trends, processes, and procedures in school administration
High level of self-motivation
Ability to successfully market various software applications to current and potential clients
Ability to apply logical analysis to identify and resolve unexpected problems
Ability to prioritize and process multiple tasks
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Communicate effectively (verbal and written)
Follow policies and procedures
Interpret data
Reading, writing, proofreading
Hearing, speaking, visual acuity
Maintain emotional control under stressful conditions
Knowledge of current technology
Knowledge of Texas Student Data System including TIMS & UID.

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Experience with TEAL, ASCENDER, TSDS, TIMS, UID, and TEDS
Experience in self-directed work and teamwork environment
Experience with State and Federal Reporting, to include TRS, W2, 1099, 1095, and etc
Knowledge of the Financial Accounting System Resource Guide
Responsibilities:
Serve as a representative of ESC Region 13, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the educational community and with the public
Provide technical assistance and training to ESC Region 13 clients in the use of ASCENDER and PEIMS applications
Develop and facilitate training and professional development activities for ESC Region 13 clients
Provide accounting assistance/review of accounting records for districts
Develop and compose appropriate level technical/training documentation
Assist districts in meeting PEIMS submission requirements
Assist and advise in development of procedures regarding the use of ASCENDER business software applications, third party software, system communications, and PEIMS
Conduct product awareness session for current and prospective users
Participate in and contribute to systems development/enhancement activities
Develop strong working relationships with clients and team members
Attend ASCENDER business applications and PEIMS training sessions offered by ESC Region 13 and the TCC
Attend applicable training sessions offered by TEA
Work with ESC Region 13 PEIMS Coordinator to facilitate timely submission of PEIMS data by ESC Region 13 ASCENDER schools
Perform other duties as assigned
