Challenges You’ll Tackle:
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the department, and recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff in the department
  • Lead the People Operations function including areas such as recruitment, benefits, compensation, talent strategy, employee relations, compliance, performance, training and development, and the overall employee lifecycle
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention. 
  • Plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs. 
  • Administer or oversee the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development. 
  • Identify staffing and recruiting needs; develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management. 
  • Conduct research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization’s human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system. 
  • Monitor and ensure the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance. 
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management. 
  • Develop and implement departmental budget.  
  • Facilitate professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff. 
  • Guide managers in appropriate handling of employee challenges and concerns and conduct investigations as necessary
  • Lead organizational development and career pathing efforts to identify hiring needs and develop training and talent programs
  • Collect and analyze key people metrics and actionable trends; deliver recommendations for programs and activities
  • Serve as a SME on compliance and labor laws and provide advisement to functional areas
  • Own our HR systems and ensure they are used efficiently and effectively to drive processes and administration
  • Oversee and direct the processing of payroll for all employees on a semi-monthly pay schedule
  • Ensure proper maintenance of payroll processing system and records
  • Play an active role in facilitating change throughout the organization and managing internal employee communications
  • Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
  • Masters Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, or related field preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in a Human Resources, Talent or People Operations Leadership
  • Accreditation in HRCI or SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred
  • High degree of integrity and sound judgement when making decisions
  • Experience building out processes and programs that thoughtfully scale a People team, as well as respective company departments
  • Ability to influence strategy and drive change across the organization
  • Strong track record of broad HR experience, ideally in a progressive Tech/SaaS company, preferably in the areas of recruitment, training & development, performance management, engagement and culture.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills with the ability to build relationships with employees of all levels
  • Experience coaching people managers on policies, crucial conversations, and employee relations
  • Skilled in various HR software including HRIS, ATS, and LMS
  • Highly proactive with a roll up your sleeves mindset and able to make a tangible impact on the team and company
  • Experience with a remote work environment a huge plus, and able to analyze benefits and culture initiatives through the lens of a distributed workforce
