HR GENERALIST (On- site | Appleton, WI)
Sentinel Safety & Security Group, LLC is a strategic ownership group quickly growing their operations in the design, fabrication, installation, and maintenance of commercial fire sprinkler systems. We are looking to expand our Human Resources team to include an experience HR professional as HR Generalist in our Appleton, WI Corporate Office.
Under the direction of the VP of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring, interviewing, and onboarding staff; administering pay, benefits, and leave; enforcing company policies and practices at the parent company level; and assist with implementing HR activities at new and acquired operating entities. Some of the key responsibilities of this position include:
· Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions.
· Acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
· Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
· Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
· Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute HR programs including compensation, benefits, and leave; performance and talent management; and training and development activities.
· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
To be successful in this role, we expect you will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or similar field plus a minimum of three years of professional experience in Human Resources; SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Other important knowledge, skills and abilities needed for success include intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; prior experience maintaining data in an HRIS, ADP Workforce Now preferred; effective oral and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to build successful working relationships with internal and external contacts; strong attention to detail; outstanding organizational, project management, and time-management skills; and understanding the importance of confidentiality in handling sensitive information. Since this role requires daily, on-site presence, only those currently residing within a reasonable commute to Appleton, Wisconsin will be considered.
