Job Description :

As an Enterprise Program Director, this position reports to the EPMO and oversees the development and successful implementation of multiple programs within the organization.This position is responsible for developing, planning, implementing, and overseeing an organization’s programs, including program's strategy and execution. This role provides expert oversight, support, and governance to an organization's projects and programs, including the development of program/project management best practices, training of project teams, monitoring of dependencies across interconnected projects and programs, consolidated reporting of project status and finances to leadership, and, in certain contexts, acting as a central governing body to review and audit adherence to methodologies, budgets, and timelines. The Program Director may also manage staffing for the organization's major projects/programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Initiates and sets goals for programs in collaboration with business leader according to the strategic objectives of the organization.
  • Organizes overall structure and governance of programs, as well as across related programs, in collaboration with the Program Manager(s).
  • Defines program controls, processes, procedures, reporting, etc., to manage programs in collaboration with Program Manager(s); influences and develops program management best practices.
  • Devises evaluation strategies to monitor performance and determines the need for improvements.
  • Oversees all program and project managers within a matrix environment providing feedback and resolving complex problems.
  • Discovers ways to enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures and people.
  • Applies change, issue, risk and resource management principles when needed to mitigate appropriately.
  • Reviews reports prepared by project leaders to determine program progress and issues.
  • Ensures program operations and activities adhere to legal guidelines and internal policies.
  • Keeps senior management informed with detailed and accurate reports or presentations.
  • Improves program functions through innovative planning and processes.
  • Drives productivity by developing effective work systems and processes.
  • Tracks, records and compiles program documentation.
  • Helps secure and manage program funding.
  • Leads programs with a strategic vision.
  • Keeps programs aligned with the organization’s mission.

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualification:

  • Healthcare system experience preferred.
  • Technical project management a plus.
  • Proven experience in ability to manage large, complex programs.
  • Broad knowledge of project and program management best practices and methodologies.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills to influence change and collaborate across different levels of the organization. Comfortable presenting to large groups.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Exceptional relationship-buildingand collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills to address difficult to moderately complex problems and influence practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage matrixed teams and mentor team members.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, Project, Teams, and Sharepoint or equivalent is preferred.
  • Solid understanding and use with ServiceNow SPM and Jira is preferred.
