Position: Program Director

About Us:
The Judeo-Christian Outreach Center (JCOC) is a beacon of hope for the homeless community in Virginia Beach. Our mission is to provide comprehensive services and support to the most vulnerable individuals, helping them transition from homelessness to stable, permanent housing. We operate several programs, including Emergency Housing (Shelter), Rapid Rehousing, Veterans Transitional Housing, and Permanent Supportive Housing, all geared towards addressing the diverse needs of our clients.

Role Overview:
We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead our team as the Program Director. This pivotal role involves providing strategic direction, supervision, and guidance for our various housing programs. The Program Director will oversee the implementation of trauma-informed approaches to engage homeless clients and facilitate their transition into permanent housing with efficiency and compassion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide overall supervision, leadership, and guidance for Emergency Housing, Rapid Rehousing, Veterans Transitional Housing, and Permanent Supportive Housing Programs.
• Evaluate and provide ongoing supervision and technical assistance to Housing Support Specialists and Residential Services Workers.
• Ensure homeless clients receive services, community referrals, and support tailored to their needs.
• Maintain relationships with staff, board members, volunteers, community stakeholders, and organizational partners through effective communication.
• Facilitate weekly/bi-weekly staff meetings and contribute to program development.
• Uphold honesty and integrity in all interactions and activities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory/management experience in a shelter or residential facility serving high-risk populations.
• Experience with comprehensive services, housing plan assistance, and job skills training for homeless, mentally ill, and chemically dependent populations.
• Familiarity with HMIS system and/or certification in SOAR is advantageous.
• Knowledge of housing first principles, trauma-informed care, and SPDAT assessments.
• Ability to work a diverse schedule and demonstrate effective leadership and organizational skills.
