ECPI University is Hiring a Remote Mechanical Engineering Tech/ Electrical Engineering Tech Online Program Director.

Overview:
This is a US based remote-based position.
ECPI University is seeking a leader in Electronics Engineering Technology (EET) or Mechanical Engineering to manage the Online EET and Mechanical Engineering Programs. This will include progressive management experience, instruction, curriculum, student success, enforcement of policies and procedures, along with accreditation standards to maintain quality education which meets state and federal requirements and ECPI University guidelines.
Responsibilities:
Faculty and Team Management
  • Lead and support faculty members to ensure effective teaching practices and adherence to program standards.
  • Manage faculty recruitment, hiring and mentoring in conjunction with the Director of Online Training and Development.
  • Conduct regular observations and provide feedback to enhance faculty performance and professional development.
  • Cultivate a collaborative team environment, promoting communications and teamwork among Faculty and Program Academic Support Specialist Team.
  • Organize and lead faculty meetings and professional development sessions to promote continuous improvement.
Program Project Management and Coordination
  • Works in the conjunction with the Programmatic Dean in the development, implementation, evaluation and revision of online program curricula, textbooks, and course content in accordance with program standards, institutional needs and changing needs of employers.
  • Oversee the coordination of projects related to curriculum development, program enhancements and student engagement initiatives.
  • Develop project plans and timelines, ensuring adherence to deadlines and milestones.
  • Collaborates with colleagues in Admissions, Student and Financial Services to facilitate optimal distribution of program information.
  • Coordinate with Dean(s) and the Curriculum team to facilitate curriculum development project plans and timelines.
  • Utilize project management tools to track progress, identify problems and solutions to and implement mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders to provide updates and address concerns.
  • Actively engages in social media efforts, conference participation, and outreach to the academic and professional communities (including virtual interaction with advisory boards, LinkedIn, and other experts)


Students

  • Teaches Online Classes.
  • Creates and maintains an environment conducive to online learning; employs instructional technology and active learning approaches to enhance the online learning experience.
  • Oversees the academic progression and graduation of students.
  • Participates in the academic advisement and counseling of students.
  • Identifies opportunities for student participation in professional organizations including student competitions.
  • Participates in student retention efforts and planning.
  • Reviews various student surveys and identifies and implements plans for faculty/course/programmatic improvement.

Professional Development

  • Stays current in subject matter through professional development.
  • Suggests ongoing professional development; to ensure program faculty remain current in the LMS, technology, certifications, trends, issues, and practices in the field, as well as effective teaching strategies and assessment methods.
Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a closely related field from a regionally accredited educational institution.
  • ABET Accreditation experience preferred.
  • Professional Engineering License (PE) is highly desirable.
  • 5 years progressive management experience.
  • 3-5 years industry experience preferred.
  • 2 years online teaching experience required.
  • 2 years online curriculum development required.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate student and department needs.
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technical skills –Current hardware and software experience specific to the industry.
  • Strong professional record with proven ability to build and motivate a remote team to achieve well communicated expectations, with a focus on results.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with orientation toward results.
  • LMS experience preferred, Canvas Learning management system highly desirable.
