Position Overview:
The Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire revenue cycle process to ensure maximum efficiency and collection of payments. This role will manage and optimize all aspects of the billing cycle, from patient registration and insurance verification to billing, coding, and claim submission, through to payment posting and revenue recognition. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare billing, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record in improving revenue cycle metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the revenue cycle team to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and payer-specific billing and coding requirements.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that ensure prompt and accurate billing and collections.
- Oversee the patient registration, insurance verification, and billing processes to minimize errors and denials.
- Analyze revenue cycle data to identify trends, performance gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline workflows, enhance patient satisfaction, and maintain data integrity.
- Train and mentor revenue cycle staff on best practices and changes in billing regulations.
- Manage relationships with payers, including negotiating contracts and resolving disputes.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations on the status and outcomes of the revenue cycle for senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Health Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- In-depth knowledge of medical billing software, coding, and reimbursement processes, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in using healthcare information systems and electronic health records (EHR).
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR), or similar certification preferred.
