Position Summary:
Seattle Indian Health Board (SIHB) places a strong emphasis on the services offered by our Behavioral Health Department. The Mental Health (MH) Clinical Supervisor will ensure that our MH Program is delivering culturally competent services to our relatives. The MH clinical supervisor is responsible for ensuring accurate diagnosis/diagnoses and quality treatment is being delivered to all SIHB Behavioral Health Consumer Relatives.
Organizational Structure/Reporting Relationships:
The Mental Health Clinical Supervisor will be required to work in close collaboration with other Outpatient and Residential Clinical Supervisor(s). The MH Clinical Supervisor will work under the direct supervision of the . This position will be responsible for supervising up to 4 Associate Level practitioners and 2 MSW Students.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical supervision and direction for relative care.
  • Demonstrate clinical knowledge, ethics, and awareness surrounding crisis intervention and standard clinical practice.
  • Carry an active caseload. Hours of direct practice will be determined by number of associate level practitioners and/or practicum students you are providing direct clinical supervision over.
  • Serve as a field instructor for our MSW Student Training Program.
  • Facilitate and/or co-facilitate weekly Multi-Disciplinary Case Staffing Meetings (Clinical Group Supervision). The SIHB's Integrated Health System provides holistic care to be delivered to the population we serve.
  • Provide on-going monthly clinical didactic trainings as directed by senior staff.
  • In addition to group supervision, the Clinical Supervisor will provide individual supervision to associate level clinicians and/or independently licensed clinicians who may require additional guidance (collaboration between clinician and clinical supervisor).
  • Provide individual weekly supervision to practicum students
  • Provide on-going training surrounding clinical documentation
  • Conduct bi-monthly quality assurance chart reviews (internal audits) to ensure each provider remains in compliance with governing and licensing agencies.
  • Utilization review of all clinical records to ensure all consumers are receiving adequate treatment and care to address diagnosis/diagnoses. Utilization review will be conducted during weekly clinical Case staffing, review of diagnosis/diagnoses, review of Individual Service Plan (ISP) to ensure appropriate intervention(s)/treatment(s) are being applied to address treatment goals, and measurable outcomes are being demonstrated.
  • Provide clinical oversight for imminent and/or unusual situations pertaining to client care.
  • Work in close collaboration with other departments to ensure continuity of care
  • Work in coordination with the other Outpatient/Residential Clinical Supervisor(s) to ensure coordination of care is occurring for co-occurring individuals
  • Create clinical policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure appropriate clinical processes are being put in place
Qualifications
Background Qualifications
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Master's in Counseling Psychology, Masters in Mental Health Counseling, or Master in Marriage and Family Therapy required.
  • Five years' experience as a Mental Health Clinical Supervisor Preferred in either an inpatient
  • Experience with the operations of behavioral health outpatient programs required, and experience with oversight of residential preferred.
  • Licensed LICSW, LMHC, LPC, and/or LMFT if applicant holds an out-of-state license. A Washington State License must be obtained within a 6-month period.
  • Co-Occurring experience preferred. A Substance Use Disorder Certification (SUDP) Preferred.
  • Knowledge and familiarity of both Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders rules and regulations as they relate to governing, licensing, and funding agencies.
  • Ability to lead service delivery team of both professionals and entry-level staff.
  • Computer skills sufficient to carry out position duties.
  • Familiarity with the health and social issues facing the American Indian/Alaska Native population and a desire to serve this population.
  • Valid Washington state driver's license and insured personal transportation to attend meetings locally.
  • Ability to attend occasional meetings out of town and on weekends or evenings.
Work Environment: Office hours are 8-5, Monday through Friday. Our 1.0 FTE is arranged in four 10-hour shifts per week (with paid time for non-face to face care).
