Seat Concepts is Hiring a Foam Production Manager Near Caldwell, ID

JOB FUNCTION: Plan, organize, supervise, and participate in the operations and activities of the Seat Factory Foam Dept; hire, train, assign, supervise and evaluate assigned staff. The Foam Production Manager is responsible for the overall manufacturing process in the foam production area as well as monitoring product quality and output yields for the department. The Manager sets the example for the foam production staff and supports management with cultivating a responsible, and trustworthy high functioning team that continually looks for ways to improve efficiencies and output.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Develop and implement production plans to meet demand while optimizing efficiency and resource utilization.

  • Generate and manage reports on department performance and progress to goals

· Ensure that foam products meet quality standards and specifications through regular inspection and quality control measures.

· Lead and motivate a team of production staff, providing guidance, training, and support to achieve production targets and objectives.

  • Hold employees accountable for attendance, performance, productivity, and teamwork.

· Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost saving initiatives, implementing changes to enhance production efficiency and product quality.

· Manage inventory levels of raw material and finished goods, implementing inventory control measures to minimize waste and ensure adequate stock levels.

· Coordinate maintenance and repair schedules and tasks for production equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.

· Develop and manage production budgets, monitoring expenses and resource allocations to achieve cost targets and financial objectives.

· Work closely with other departments, such as R&D, Procurement and Sales/Marketing to coordinate production activities and meet customer requirements.

· Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and regulations, conducting regular safety audits, and promoting a culture of safety awareness.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing or related field (preferred).
  • 3 years management experience in a manufacturing environment. (Required)
  • 5s and Lean Manufacturing training (Preferred)
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to effectively manage and develop a diverse team of production staff.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and MRP/ERP management software.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.
  • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50 pounds
  • Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust and fumes.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Idaho driver's license
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
