When does the role start?

As soon as we find the right candidate! This is a newly created role, so we’re not in a hurry, but happy to hire tomorrow should the right person apply for the position.

The role:

The core mission of our Payroll Specialist is to ensure people get paid - both accurately, and on time! They also play a key part in our accounts payable processes, to ensure we are always in a healthy cash position to pay people their hard earned dollars. We have several different payrolls that run weekly and bi-weekly, for both internal Scoot HQ staff and our external staff; our amazing educators who are out there creating exceptional experiences in school communities.

The Payroll Specialist, reporting to our Finance Director, will work alongside our existing payroll team members to improve payroll & accounts payable efficiencies as we continue to grow across the country. This role will allow you to gain valuable payroll experience in a multi-state environment with 5K or more employees per payroll cycle.

You’ll work on:

• Processing all weekly and biweekly payrolls, internal and external.
• Payroll administration, including creating & maintaining records for all staff
• Reconciliation of margin analysis
• Regular reporting on cash flow position
• Preparing monthly workers compensation report
• Investigating and resolving any and all pay queries

You should have:

• Qualifications/certifications in finance or accounting
• 2 years of payroll experience
• Proficiency using Microsoft Excel
• Experience applying variable pay rate cards to specific scenarios
• Demonstrated ability to work quickly without losing accuracy
• Ridiculous attention to detail
• Demonstrated history of delivering exceptional outcomes

You’ll stand out if you:

• Have a background working in education and/or a high volume temporary staffing company
• Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now and/or Xero

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
