SCHNITZER INVESTMENT CORP is Hiring a Marketing Coordinator Near Portland, OR

Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, Schnitzer Properties is a dynamic, expanding real estate investment, development and management company that owns and operates more than 175 properties in six western states: Oregon, Washington, California, Nevada, Utah and Arizona. The portfolio consists of 30 million square feet of office, multi-tenant industrial, multi-family and retail commercial properties.

As our Marketing Coordinator, you are an enthusiastic, tactical team player, proactively delivering marketing solutions to our team by managing projects and delivering them on-time. Your excellent communication skills will be used to ensure the overall execution of projects and ensuring team tasks are completed. Overview: This position requires an extremely organized project manager with the ability to take initiative and work independently. The ideal candidate must also have the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to timelines and budgets.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as the key point of contact for internal Schnitzer Properties marketing customers. 
  • Manages, and coordinates regularly with, external partners and vendors, in the process of executing marketing tasks and tactics. 
  • Coordinates and tracks assignments and workflow for the Graphic Designer and the Creative Manager.
  • Responsible for tracking and meeting all marketing projects and corresponding deadlines. 
  • Works collaboratively with the Director of Communications to request written material for brochures or other longer-format written material. 
  • Copywrites short-format descriptions for website updates, signage, swag etc.
  • Coordinates photo, video and drone shoots with Creative Director and if needed, external vendors. 
  • Works with internal and external partners to distribute final versions of company newsletters electronically and in print format. 
  • Works with internal and external partners to distribute final versions of collateral, brochures, training materials, handbooks etc. 
  • Connects the President, region and department leaders at least twice a year to assess marketing needs and brainstorm new ideas and solutions.
  • Responsible for placing paid advertising as needed. 
  • Assists with events as needed.
  • Assist with Schnitzer CARE Foundation and Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation marketing projects as needed. 
  • Assists with social media posting as needed. 
  • Fulfills, tracks and ships marketing materials orders to ensure timely delivery. 
  • Manages budgets for marketing activities. 
  • Manages non-website or domain hosting related subscriptions for all marketing activities (ex: Slack, Podio, Dropbox, Trello). 
  • Orders and maintains inventory of promotional items like press packets, swag, tote bags etc. 
  • Additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related field or five years of experience in a marketing role.
  • 2 years of experience in communications.
  • 2 years of project management experience.
  • Experience working in a social media or communications role, ideally in a corporate environment.
  • Experience in a variety of written forms, including corporate newsletters, social media posts, magazine articles, and press releases.
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic social media campaigns on diverse platforms.
  • Experience with graphic/web design would be a strong asset.
  • Experience with photography (shooting and editing) would be a strong asset.
  • Strong computer skills, and proficiency with MS Office, basic HTML, and MailChimp.
