POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our growing business. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting outstanding debts owed to the company, applying the payments and reconciling customer accounts. You should be able to understand and translate large amounts of numbers and financial information, negotiate tactfully, and persistently contact people of interest to collect the value owed.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES

• Own and maintain AR Aging
• Develop and maintain a tracking system of incoming and late payments
• Initiate late payment notices to relevant parties
• Make contact with relevant parties via phone calls
• Inform debtors of their payment status and timelines for repayment
• Negotiate repayment and financial plans as needed
• Be persistent in calling and contacting debtors
• Address questions, complaints, or suggestions
• Follow up on late payment notices and payment promises
• Monitor and resolve discrepancies
• Apply payments and reconcile accounts to keep records up to date
• Follow escalation process (Internal and External)

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent; finance or accounting coursed preferred
• Two years of previous experience as a collector or in a related field
• Proficient computer skills, MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel a must)
• Working knowledge of financial/ERP software; NetSuite a plus
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Self-motivated and self-directed; able to follow instructions and work with little supervision
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to create trust and build relationships
• Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
