Job Summary:

The Sr. Manager of Accounting is integral in the management of the periodic financial close process for the company, its subsidiaries, and variable interest entities, to include monthly quarterly and annual reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting principles (GAAP). This position requires the technical skill sets needed to perform advanced analytical duties and the ability to communicate technical information to both internal and external stakeholders in a clear and concise format, providing guidance to company leadership ensuring compliance with accounting principles. The position acts as a Lead or Subject Matter Expert on cross-functional projects including investment entities and related reserves.

Responsibilities:

• Oversight of the Company’s equity accounting and reporting, in compliance with US GAAP
• Exercise judgment within defined procedures and propose appropriate solutions. Interpret & communicate the Company’s equity policies and procedures to employees at all levels.
• Ensure accuracy in accounting transactions with confidentiality
• Partner with other departments, such as: Human Resources, Legal, and Tax departments
• Develop and generate ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
• Take lead on accounting research and provide guidance on technical/complex accounting matters to drive business decision making and ensure proper accounting and disclosure
• Work through various technical accounting issues, including preparing memorandums and analysis to conclude on the appropriate accounting related transactions. Document and implement policies and procedures to ensure transactions are accounted for accurately
• Responsible for overseeing your team’s month-end close process, including reconciliations of operating accounts, major balance sheet reserves, and flux analysis as part of reviewing financial information and upward reporting
• Coordinate with external auditors and serve as a key contact in the annual audit process for your responsibilities
• Manage resource utilization for your team and support bigger finance teams through leadership, direction and overseeing personnel related issues
• Set the short, medium and long-term strategy for your team (people, process and systems) including automation projects Support other Finance functions including ad hoc projects and analyses as necessary
