Job Summary:

The Manager of Store Work Efficiency executes the strategies and processes that are the underlying foundation of efficient labor deployment in our stores.This position builds annual company store labor budgets and supports execution of weekly labor planning processes, best methods, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position studies methods using Engineered Labor Standards (i.e. OPUS), time studies, work sampling (i.e. Quetech) and other technologies and techniques to efficiently design, develop and implement best methods to maintain store labor models which align with Company financial expectations.

The Manager is responsible for the maintenance and configuration of labor scheduling and forecasting systems (i.e. Kronos).This position trains all aspects of Kronos, provides system issue resolution, and implementation processes relating to new features and functionality.The position provides fact-based metrics, reporting, and tools to optimize store labor resources and operational financial goals efficiently and effectively. The Manager of Store Work Efficiency works directly with Operations and store leadership, merchandising teams, IT, HRIS, Labor Relations, and Financial Planning & Analytics to support store leaders in achieving their budgeted labor goals.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Labor Budgeting

-Collaborates with Banner leadership to establish strategies to match labor resources with Banner financial expectations regarding service and store conditions through the labor modeling, store budgeting, and scheduling process

-Supervises the OPUS budgeting process to support banner Vice Presidents and Directors of Store Operations to ensure expectations are captured and institutionalized

-Develop yearly labor metrics (Fixed Hours, Sales Factors, CPLH and Operating Percent) using OPUS as the foundation for weekly labor budgets across all Operations and store levels

-Provide strategies and data driven recommendations for process changes to align budgets with financial expectations

Engineered Labor Standards

-Collaborate with Operations, Merchandising, IT, and Labor Relations, to develop quantitative store labor models

-Analyze best methods (ideal) impacts, properly vetting with appropriate teams, project development, implementation, and integration into standard operating procedures

-Create, maintain, and update store labor standards and modeling profiles in OPUS as programs and layouts change due to company remodels and/or program changes from Merchandising

-Maintain data integrity between multiple systems (i.e. OPUS and Kronos) to ensure data consistency across all sub-category levels

Labor Management

- Create, analyze, and provide enterprise labor reports

-Provide quantitative labor analysis and SME guidance to Operations leadership to achieve Company budgeted labor goals

-Train Store Managers and Assistant Managers on labor management tool utilization, strategies, and company best methods

Store Scheduling & Forecasting

-Educate Operations and Store leadership on labor scheduling, scheduling software (i.e. Kronos), and best labor scheduling methodologies

-Maintain OPUS labor standards driven by program changes, remodels, and Company strategies, and subsequent integration into Kronos, ensuring accurate labor hours for scheduling

-Evaluate and test new features and functionality of Kronos Dimensions system

-Deploy scheduling enhancements and functionality of Kronos Dimensions labor scheduling platform

-Provide SME support for Kronos help desk issues related to scheduling and forecasting
