VP of Solutions & Business Development, Global Services

Job Purpose:

  • The VP of Solutions & Business Development will identify and develop industry, service, and customer targets to expand growth opportunities for the Global Services division (SGS), responsible for Integration and Aftermarket Services, along with the development of targets, related strategies and relationships to advance these goals.
  • Manage a team responsible to define, develop business and operating solutions to best support customer needs, including operating location(s), services to be provided, value propositions, and pricing.
  • Manage and drive a team to secure new and strategic business; this includes market analyses and identification beneficial acquisition opportunities to expand market share and/or enable new capabilities.
  • Responsible for managing the development of marketing strategies and marketing materials to best communicate and deliver value offerings value for customers and internal stakeholders.

Nature of Duties:

  • Develop strategies to screen, oversee, manage, and drive RFI, RFP, RFQ responses and unsolicited proposals to deliver cost effective solutions, exceed customer expectations, and provide value propositions.
  • Oversee the SGS Solutions, Marketing and Business Development teams responsible for the design and sale of Services business solutions for prospective and existing customers. Validate and prioritize opportunities, allocate resources (staff).
  • Assess market dynamics and advise on expanded service offerings and solutions to be developed and provided globally, regionally, and/or locally, including strategic acquisition opportunities.
  • Assess and advise on strategic industry and customer targets for strategic positioning toward future business successes. 
  • Develop and deploy a global sales strategy in conjunction with management in order to achieve aims and objectives set for the business. 
  • Develop and deploy a global sales process to maximize effectiveness and win ratio. 
  • Work with, and manage their team to identify, qualify and close new business in line with set quotas and engage appropriate resources from cross-functional teams to ensure successful business execution. 
  • Engage and collaborate with counterparts within the corporation when appropriate including corporate sales and account management.
  • Continuously refine and revise customer presentation templates and formats to best communicate proposals. Ensure customer facing sales documents effectively communicate desired messages to maximize impact.
  • Ensure sales data system(s) are maintained and updated with customer data and opportunity logs.

Education and Experience:

  • 15 years of Solutions, Corporate Development and/or related Sales experience with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Logistics or Business; MBA or related post-graduate degree a plus.
  • Strong background in electronics manufacturing and related service logistics, preferably as contract manufacturer or 3PL.
  • Experience in high-tech applications for relevant services including BTO, CTO, reverse logistics, repair, direct order fulfillment, and engineering services.
  • Demonstrable influencing, negotiation, and closing skills with success in developing and winning new accounts.
  • Experience working with vast remote cross-functional teams in large matrix organizations.
  • Applicable knowledge of the CM/EMS industry with background in Manufacturing. Applicable knowledge of relevant service provider P&L structures and pricing models.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective partnerships with internal and external customers.
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems and lead teams to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to quickly prepare clear and concise presentation documents, and effectively present information and respond to questions from custom buying authorities, senior and executive management.
  • Strong ability to plan at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Detailed and a highly-developed tactical, problem-solving skill set.
  • High tolerance for changing priorities with a keen sense of urgency.
  • Highly motivated with an entrepreneurial attitude and outlook, strong work ethics with high level of integrity.
  • Personal computer skills, with proficiency in spreadsheet, presentations, and word processing, preferably in Microsoft Office Suite and Google. Aptitude to learn and use company CRM tools.
