Location: Crownsville, Maryland | Teen Residential Treatment Center 

Schedule: Full-Time | 3 Day Work Week | Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday | (12.5-hour Shifts)

Your Impact: How You’ll Make a Difference at Sandstone Care

As a Nurse at Sandstone Care, you’ll have the opportunity to use your nursing expertise, client support skills, and collaborative care abilities to transform the lives of adolescents facing substance abuse and mental health challenges.   • Nursing Expertise: You’ll perform essential nursing duties such as administering medication, monitoring vital signs, conducting assessments, and documenting client progress. You’ll also serve as a valuable medical resource for our clients, answering their questions, educating them on health issues, and addressing their concerns.   • Client Support: You’ll be there to support our clients throughout their treatment process, ensuring their safety and comfort. You’ll assist with client supervision and behavioral management, using de-escalation techniques, crisis support, and redirection when needed. You’ll also provide emotional support and encouragement to our clients, helping them cope with their challenges and celebrate their achievements.   • Collaborative Care: Collaboration is key at Sandstone Care. You’ll work closely with the medical and clinical team to ensure a safe and stable treatment environment for our clients. Who You Are: Qualifications For This Role 

To be a successful Nurse at Sandstone Care, you should have the following qualifications:

  • Active RN or LPN License: You must have a valid and current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license that allows you to practice in the state of Maryland. If you are an LPN, you must also have an IV Certification in the state.
  • Experience in Substance Abuse and/or Co-Occurring Disorders: You should have previous experience in treating substance abuse and/or co-occurring disorders, as this is essential for providing effective care to our clients.
  • Training in Verbal De-Escalation and/or Mental Health (Preferred): Having training in verbal de-escalation and mental health is a plus, as it will enhance your ability to support our clients in crisis situations and address their emotional needs.
  • Valid Driver’s License with No Restrictions: You must have a valid driver’s license with no restrictions, as you may need to transport clients using a 15-passenger van as part of your duties.
  • Minimum of 2 Years of Relevant Nursing Experience (Ideal): Ideally, you should have at least 2 years of relevant nursing experience, as this will demonstrate your skills and knowledge in the field.
  • LPNs must also have an active IV Certification and all nurses must be able to conduct blood draws as a function of this position.
