Sampson County is Hiring a (INSPECTIONS & PLANNING) Administrative Support Specialist Near Clinton, NC

GRADE: 62

SALARY: Begins at $32,772/Year with comprehensive benefits package

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This position reports to the Director and provides administrative support and customer service for departmental operations in a fast-paced environment. Strong organization skills with great attention to detail in this forward-facing position are crucial for effective and efficient service delivery in responding to requests, issuing required permits, preparing financial reports, and maintaining accurate files. Other duties as apparent or assigned will be required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Working knowledge of the organization and functions of the department and of general administrative policies and practices; applicable knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment and office support techniques; comprehensive knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic; ability to read, understand and interpret difficult materials with complicated information; ability to keep office records and to prepare accurate reports from file sources; ability to perform and organize work independently; ability to prepare effective correspondence on routine matters; ability to operate standard office and computer equipment including ability to operate specialized software; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Applicants should possess an associate degree with coursework in business administration, secretarial science, or related field and minimal experience in office management and/or customer service, and demonstrated computer proficiency.
