GRADE : 61

SALARY : Starting at $31,212 / year with comprehensive benefits package.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK : This position is assigned to the Fiscal Unit of the Sampson County Health Department. This unit is responsible for all fiscal activities with the agency to include budget, accounts payable, patient accounts receivable, eligibility determination for clients, encounter recording, internal audits and other various fiscal functions.

The primary purpose of this position is to interview clients to determine financial eligibility and payer source; determine fees for services provided based on eligibility and collect payment;

This position is also responsible for accounts receivable maintenance for client accounts with third party insurance or Medicare payer source.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES : Knowledge, skills and abilities requirements are reading and ability to perform basic calculations, filing, alphabetically and chronologically, communication skills, typing, data entry, organization skills, confidentiality, and ability to work within an Excel and Word Document.

Visual attention, mental concentration and attention to detail are important abilities needed for this position.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : High School Diploma or GED and at least two years of office assistant / secretarial experience;

or an equivalent combination of training and experience
