Saint Louis Art Museum is Hiring a Museum Program Coordinator Near St. Louis, MO

Museum Program Coordinator

Summary: To provide support for Access for All programs and initiatives.

Access for All: The Saint Louis Art Museum has been selected to participate in the Art Bridges Foundation's Access for All pilot program from 2024 through 2026. The pilot program's initiative is to increase access to the Museum and foster engagement with local audiences. The initiative offers support by covering the costs of programming, marketing, outreach, and additional efforts that reduce barriers for audiences.

Access for All Free Fridays will provide Museum visitors of all ages with a variety of exciting new experiences and programs. With live music, gallery activations, open studios, films, performances, and more, there will be something for every visitor to enjoy. The expansion of existing programs in addition to the implementation of new opportunities will assist the Museum in connecting with and building upon new audiences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help implement Access for All programming based on plans provided;
  • Assist with tasks related to preparation for programs such as reserving spaces, ordering and preparation of materials for art activities;
  • Provide logistical support during programs, including escorting outside vendors and performers, assisting with set up and clean up, and interacting with and assisting visitors during programs;
  • Complete administrative tasks in support of program planning, implementation, and evaluation including scheduling planning meetings, maintaining program attendance records, and compiling program information for reports and presentations;
  • Collect and process paperwork from presenters, performers, art instructors, and other vendors (W9, Certificates of Insurance, affidavits, etc.) and assist with drafting and routing Independent Contractor Agreements for signatures;
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications: Required: High school diploma; strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe; comfort interacting with audiences of diverse backgrounds and ages; ability to maintain effective working relationships with other colleagues, museum visitors, and outside partners and contractors. Preferred: Post-secondary coursework in studio art, education, visual art, or a related discipline.

Additional Details:

Hiring Range: $19.70 - $23.64 per hour

Status: Limited Term, Full-time (37.5 hours/week)

Schedule: 37.5 hours/week; exact work schedule to be determined. Must be available to work Fridays, including daytime and evening hours.
