Northside Youth And Senior Service Center is Hiring a Youth Program Coordinator Near St. Louis, MO

Purpose

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Youth Program Coordinator. As the Program Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the overall management and coordination of our youth programs and initiatives. You will work closely with the Youth Department Director to ensure the effective implementation of programs that engage, empower, and enrich the lives of young individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Developing programs to assist clients at partner sites and in person.
  • Maintaining accurate records and preparing reports.
  • Participating in training, supervision, and management meetings.
  • Overseeing day-to-day operations of the senior center.
  • Developing organizational policies.
  • Attending mandatory provider meetings.
  • Managing department budgets.
  • Hiring, training, and evaluating department staff.
  • Maintaining stakeholder relationships.
  • Monitoring operating expenses.
  • Liaising with other departments.
  • Preparing monthly performance reports for the Executive Director and the Board of Directors.

Qualifications

Program Development and Coordination:

  • Collaborate with the Youth Department Director to design, plan, and execute a diverse range of youth programs, workshops, events, and activities.
  • Assist in developing and modifying program curricula, ensuring alignment with educational, developmental, and cultural objectives.
  • Coordinate logistics, including scheduling, staffing, materials preparation, and participant registration.

Staff Supervision and Development:

  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership to program coordinators, volunteers, and interns.
  • Conduct regular meetings to review program progress, address challenges, and provide professional development opportunities for team members.

Community Engagement:

  • Foster relationships with local schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote program participation and partnership opportunities.
  • Represent the organization at community events, conferences, and meetings related to youth development.

Budget Management:

  • Assist in developing and managing the budget for youth programs, ensuring responsible allocation of resources.
  • Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving measures, and report budgetary updates to

the Youth Department Director.

Evaluation and Reporting:

  • Collect and analyze data to assess program effectiveness, participant satisfaction, and overall impact.
  • Prepare regular reports for the Youth Department Director, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.

 Parent and Guardian Communication:

  • Maintain open and effective communication channels with parents, guardians, and caregivers to
  • keep them informed about program offerings, updates, and their child's progress.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the well-being of program participants and staff.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to youth programming and child protection.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in education, youth development, social work, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in program coordination or youth development, with one year of supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of youth development principles, social and emotional learning, and adolescent behavior.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management, budgeting, and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with relevant software applications and technology tools.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by program schedules.
  • Passion for empowering and inspiring young individuals to reach their full potential.
