Description

Position: Director of MEP

Location: Fishers, IN

RQAW|DCCM is looking for an experienced and hands-on Director of MEP to lead all MEP services. Successful candidates for this opportunity will have an entrepreneurial spirit, extensive management experience, and competency in the managing of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems projects that may be large and complex in nature. 

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Project Manager for select projects to ensure on-time and within budget with delivery of high-quality technical designs and plans meeting project requirements.
  • Oversee supervision and technical development of design staff to ensure production, establish staffing projections and scheduling, as well as quality control, review contracts, set project scope and cost proposals.
  • Provide work assignments and review performance to ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff.
  • Determine and drive monthly department billings, profitability, staff utilization, and staffing projections.
  • Complete employee performance reviews and career development goals and identify or implement appropriate training opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Buildings and Places to ensure financial success of MEP services.
  • Responsible for developing and achieving new business goals and maintaining existing client relationships in the region.
  • Achieve annual MEP revenue and profit goals.
  • Recruit, grow, develop, and manage MEP staff.
  • Manage and monitor the progress of projects and budgets.
  • Provide excellent technical support to clients.
  • Responsible for promoting a safe and effective site culture.
  • Ability to meet government security screening requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with codes and regulations.
  • Lead communication with our internal and external teammates and clients.
  • Prepare and/or review project milestones such as Schematic Design Narratives, Design Development Drawings, and Construction Drawings.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Architects, Civil Engineers, and MEP Engineers.
  • Assure project delivery schedules and on time delivery of services.
  • Perform QA/QC to assure completeness and quality of design.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or similar. 
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Indiana.
  • 10 years of MEP consulting services.
  • Proficiency in Revit preferred.
  • Ability to communicate technical design content to non-technical team members.
  • Experience managing staff and projects, selling the business, and promoting MEP practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation skills, and technical writing skills.
  • Proven effective team leadership and successful project management experience.
