RPMStaffing Professionals is Hiring a Human Resource Generalist (ch30634) Near Paris, TX

HR Generalist will run the daily functions of the HR departments including interviewing, hiring, employee development, employee relations, terminations, employee records management, and enforcing company policies and procedures. This is a high-profile, hands-on position with substantial influence at the site level with an emphasis on action, training, and results. Non-exempt role; Reports to the local Human Resources Manager and Site Manager; Performs a variety of routine duties within established policies.
Responsibilities:
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Manage internal job posting, job training, and testing of internal applicants.
  • Implement employee communication and recognition programs.
  • Effectively manage and organize workforce development efforts through close relationships with employees, site supervision, and other industry or workforce-related organizations within the region.
  • Develop relationships with local high schools and technical colleges to convince the future workforce that industrial maintenance and construction is a viable career alternative.
  • Attend high school, military, and local community job fairs available in the region.
  • Communicate HR programs and policies and address all HR-related questions at the site level.
  • Communicate with management, resolve employee accountability and disciplinary issues, and EEO-related issues. Coordinate site interactions and communications with corporate HR, Legal, Benefits administrators, etc.
  • Conduct investigations when needed or as assigned, including the documentation and resolution of employee complaints & concerns. Including proper documentation of all activities related to investigations, complaints, and concerns as well as following up with employees, employee relations, and the site management team.
  • Coordinate with the corporate workforce development and training department on employee training, certifications, new employee orientation programs, and other educational and training programs on changes in benefits, diversity, and more at assigned locations.
  • Maintain records of participants' attendance, progress, test evaluations, completion of program, etc.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
  • May compile and prepare various reports.
  • May coordinate and process general administrative work, for example, time sheets, vacation requests, supply requisitions, etc.
Qualifications:
  • BA/BS or A.A.S in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years in human resources in a manufacturing or construction environment.
  • Formal training in labor law and employee relations, preferred.
  • PHR / SPHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • Confidentiality and integrity are critical to success in this position.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must possess strong computer skills and experience with office and HR software programs.
  • Must be able to multi-task and perform duties without constant supervision.
