Job Overview:
We are a casual Italian restaurant, transitioning into a late night bar on the Santa Monica strip seeking a skilled and customer-oriented Bartender to join our team. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests by preparing and serving beverages in a timely and efficient manner. Your role will also include maintaining cleanliness and organization behind the bar area.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and guest preferences
- Interact with customers, take orders, and provide recommendations on drink selections
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area, ensuring all supplies are stocked
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Handle cash transactions and operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately
- Monitor alcohol consumption of guests, ensuring responsible service
- Collaborate with the kitchen staff to coordinate food and beverage orders
- Assist in setting up and breaking down the bar area before and after service
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing any guest concerns or inquiries
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Bartender in a bar or restaurant setting
- Knowledge of various drink recipes and mixology techniques
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with guests and team members
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure
- Must be at least 21 years old (or legal drinking age in your jurisdiction)
- Food safety certification is required
