About the Role

The successful candidate will be the founding member of the team; playing a key role in establishing the Enterprise API Sales function and motion at Rocket Lawyer. Building on the strong momentum from existing API partners, you will bring your exceptional business acumen, commercial creativity, relationship building skills and experience working and collaborating with cross-functional teams to formulating and executing the full-funnel outbound strategies necessary to build and close pipeline. This high visibility role will report to the Vice President of Business Development and will be responsible for weekly forecasting and pipeline reviews with other key members of the leadership team. 

With an entrepreneurial spirit, you thrive in building new capabilities and creating new markets; you love building and refining playbooks and you are comfortable being hands on with all aspects of the selling process from strategy to pre and post sale work. You will be driving important partnerships from inception through launch and ongoing management. You love inspiring and exciting prospects and partners about solutions and you have a sense of urgency and hunger to succeed. 

A background in FinTech, SaaS, B2B/B2B2C software, or SMB software is preferred. You will need exceptional business acumen, commercial creativity and relationship building skills as well as experience working and leading cross-functional teams.

A Day in the Life

  • Work directly with the VP of Business Development & Chief Growth Officer to define, develop, and execute on full funnel, outbound sales strategy for Rocket Lawyer’s API business
  • Articulate ICP and target account list, developing/executing customized messaging and plans for engaging the right people within each account
  • Identify goals and needs/requirements of prospects and clients, including budgetary constraints and key decision makers to inform messaging and account strategy
  • Gain an in-depth and detailed understanding of Rocket Lawyer’s API business and products to confidently sell to Fortune 1000 companies in order to confidently articulate its value to each target account 
  • Engage with prospect organizations to position Rocket Lawyer API solutions through strategic value based selling, business case definition, return on investment analysis, and market data 
  • Develop and manage a strong pipeline providing regular executive updates . 
  • Create effective presentations and proposals 
  • Negotiate pricing and contractual agreements. Provide account analysis and accurate revenue forecasts. 
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure partners’ successful onboarding and ongoing support
  • Meet/Exceed individual revenue targets and contribute to the overall team and company success
  • Ready to grow into management role of a team of ADRs
  • Travel may be required (do what you need to do to close the deal)
Qualifications
  • 5 years of quota-carrying software technology experience
  • Demonstrated success in advancing and growing an API business, preferably B2B2C SaaS but not required
  • Successfully worked at early sales organizations with a lean team and evolving sales processes
  • A demonstrable track record of success managing the end-to-end sales process and engaging with all levels from end users to business champions to C-level executives
  • History of extensive and consistent new account penetration; creative prospecting skills leading to strong, predictable pipeline development
  • Proficient in modern sales processes/methodologies
  • Good sense and knowledge on terms & conditions and legal contract issues
  • Have excellent presence and proven track record to influence and sell at all levels, from individual contributors to C-Suite
  • Ability to communicate clearly and distill complexity into action
  • Possess strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of forecasting & pipeline management
  • Excellent project management ability, capable of leading multiple time-sensitive cross-functional projects
  • Experience in a pipeline generation motion and a weekly metrics-based approach that measures key activity and pipeline adds
