SUMMARY
Participate in planning and manage the activities of the kitchen, including sanitation; safety; and training.
STATUS: Full-time
LOCATION: Rochester General Hospital
DEPARTMENT: Food & Nutrition Services
SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, as scheduled by department.
ATTRIBUTES
- American National Standards Institute accredited Food Safety Certification within 3 to 6 months of hire (i.e. ServSafe, NRFSP
- Associates degree in food service preferred
- 5 years leadership experience preferred
- 8 years experience in food service, ideally within healthcare environment
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the activities of the General Kitchen Associates regarding adherence to procedures and customer satisfaction.
- According to all departmental policies, recruit and schedule all General Kitchen Associates maintaining quality and budget.
- Maintain highest level of customer Service as outlined by departmental and RGHS standards.
- Represent the department on weekends, holidays and evenings in the absence of Administrative Staff following hospital and department vision.
- Maintain and review all QI information insuring department stays within all HAACP Guidelines.
- Patient/Resident visitation following up on complaints and checking for acceptability of service quality and quantity of food.
- Participate in planning and follow through of training of all kitchen staff.
- Know and follow the New York State Sanitation Code, Part 1, Section 14.
- Coordinate all monthly preventive maintenance and sanitation inspections and follow through with all Food and Nutrition Service Equipment for a safer operation.
- Order and maintain sufficient inventory of cleaning supplies and back up parts for all Food and Nutrition Service equipment.
- Make recommendations and carry out disciplinary action for the department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
PAY RANGE: $55,500.00 - $66,300.00
