Detailed Job Description
  • Project leadership and scoping: development, management, and implementation of a battery training programs and curriculum for battery engineers/scientists.
  • Coordination with project partners: lead grant efforts to collaborate with RIT faculty and NENY partners to develop training and curriculum programs. The manager will be responsible for hiring staff and students to support the training. This includes seeking and hiring temporary outside consultants and instructors to enhance the training provided.
  • Budget management: manage and develop the budget for the project. This includes creating a budget plan, monitoring expenses, and reporting on financial status.
  • Curriculum development: lead curriculum and training program development working with RIT faculty and NENY partners to develop a robust battery training curriculum for technicians and battery engineers/scientists. This will include both classroom lectures and hands-on experience.
  • Workshop planning and organization: organize battery manufacturing workshops that will cover battery technologies and manufacturing with a focus on lithium-ion chemistry.
  • Reporting and documentation: responsible for documenting all aspects of the project, including progress reports, budget reports, and training materials.
  • Industry communication and outreach: lead customer discovery efforts to understand what are industry workforce development needs that will scope the training programs. Head a marketing and communication plan to connect with program participants, stakeholders, and the public.
  • Grant proposals and sustainability model: seek additional grant funding through proposal development and grant applications to expand the training program. Develop a sustainability model with NENY coalition members to fund battery training efforts after the 3 year grant conclusion.
Department/College Description
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in a related field (engineering, education, etc.)
At least 3 years of experience in grant or program administration in a technical or training field
Skills:
  • Experience managing complex projects or programs, ideally in a technical or scientific field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision and as part of the RIT BPC team.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Budgeting and financial management experience
